Jhanak 9th January 2026 Written Update: Accusations Fly, Jhanak Breaks Down, and a Forced Confession Shakes Rishi’s World
The episode opens with tension already simmering as Rishi brings Jhanak to his house, a decision that instantly sparks outrage. Tanushri is the first to question his sanity, demanding to know what he is doing. Rishi explains that Sanjhbati’s mother refused to keep Jhanak at her place, leaving him with no option. Sanjhbati herself looks torn. She admits she cannot talk to her mother about this and asks Rishi to understand her helplessness. The house, however, is in no mood for understanding.
Abhimanyu coldly asks whether their house has turned into a dharamshala. Neelu adds fuel to the fire, reminding everyone that they are aware of Jhanak’s past actions and cannot risk letting her stay under their roof. Indumati supports Neelu, voicing concerns about everyone’s safety, especially the children. The hostility is immediate and suffocating.
Dadabhai shifts the focus by asking about Aditi’s condition. Rishi replies that she is better, but the relief is short-lived. Putul unexpectedly suggests that Jhanak can stay in her room and won’t come out. Neelu suddenly lashes out, her patience completely gone. She asks angrily whether the other woman has lost her mind. Speaking straight from the heart, she says that a case of attempt to murder will be filed against Jhanak, and after that, there is no way she can be allowed to stay under the same roof. For Neelu, the matter is clear and final.
Tanushri then looks at Rishi, her face tense with fear. She asks him softly but firmly if he has thought about their safety even once. What if something happens again? What if the children get hurt? Who will take the blame then? Her words come from pure concern, not anger, leaving the room filled with uneasy silence.
Dritimaan then asks Rishi where he went the previous day. Rishi explains that he went to submit samples and attended meetings related to the case. He assures everyone that a neutral investigation will take place. Jhanak quietly mentions that she wanted to go to Simulboni but stopped because of the investigation. Dadabhai makes a rare but firm statement. He says he does not believe Jhanak tried to kill Aditi and asks her if she suspects anyone. Jhanak denies harming Aditi but admits she does not suspect anyone either.
Sanjhbati, clearly disturbed, points out that only Aditi fainted after drinking the juice, which means something must have been mixed in it. She asks Jhanak to confess if she has anything to say. The implication is clear. Jhanak asks Sanjhbati directly if she suspects her. Sanjhbati replies that it doesn’t matter what she thinks. Everyone wants to know what really happened, especially since her mother is in shock.
Jhanak says she understands the situation and wants the truth to come out too. Abhimanyu scoffs, accusing her of putting on a drama. Dritimaan expresses how bad he feels for Aditi, reminding Rishi that she has suffered far more than she deserved. He reveals that he went with Sanjhbati to invite Aditi personally. Rishi admits he has not met Aditi because the doctor did not allow it.
Dritimaan bluntly tells Rishi that bringing Jhanak into the house was a mistake. Rishi counters that Jhanak has nowhere else to go. Sanjhbati adds that Rishi should also consider others’ feelings and could have arranged a hotel instead. Rishi insists that the truth will come out after the investigation and promises that he will ensure Jhanak is punished if she is found guilty.
Dadabhai states that he has nothing to defend Jhanak with. Dritimaan asks Jhanak to accept the truth if she really did it. Sanjhbati urges her to at least tell the truth to the police. Jhanak calmly says she always speaks the truth. Dadabhai asks her to admit it now, warning that if the truth emerges during the investigation, her life will be ruined. Jhanak replies bitterly that everyone has already decided she is the culprit, so what difference does her words make.
Dritimaan explains why they have reasons to suspect her. Aditi’s parents have no motive to harm their own daughter, and Jhanak prepared the juice before their arrival. He asks her to imagine herself in their position. Jhanak responds with painful honesty, saying she would suspect herself too.
Tanushri declares Jhanak dangerous and demands Rishi throw her out. Rishi says it is only for a few days and once again makes it clear that he will not support Jhanak if she is found guilty. Sanjhbati says she feels ashamed for ever supporting Jhanak. Jhanak thanks her for standing by her until now and then, shockingly, says she accepts her guilt.
The room freezes. Dritimaan asks if she is truly admitting it. Jhanak asks who else could have done it if not her. Putul weakly insists that Jhanak cannot harm anyone. But Jhanak continues, her words dripping with sarcasm and self-loathing. She says she would gain Aniruddh’s wealth after Aditi’s death since he is her father, and she would also get Aditi’s husband, which she supposedly wanted.
Rishi snaps at her to stop talking nonsense in anger. Jhanak pushes him away emotionally, telling him not to wait for an investigation and to throw her out immediately. Abhimanyu says Jhanak waited long enough to get rid of Aditi, and Jhanak agrees with him. Tanushri demands someone record Jhanak’s confession before she changes her statement. Jhanak says she will repeat the same thing to the police.
Rishi begs her to stop and tell the truth. He insists he knows she is innocent. Jhanak counters by saying only she benefits if Aditi dies, which is why she tried to kill her. Rishi realizes this is not a real confession but a breakdown born out of pain and pressure.
The scene then shifts to Aditi’s room. Anjana asks her to eat some fruit, but Aditi refuses. Arshi insists she at least drink juice to take her medicine. Rishi arrives, and Arshi immediately questions his presence. Rishi states that he did not try to kill Aditi and has every right to see his wife when she is unwell. Aditi coldly asks if he truly considers her his wife. Rishi replies that they are not divorced yet, so legally, he is still her husband.
Arshi accuses him of putting on an act. She reminds him that they attended the marriage only out of respect for Dritimaan and Sanjhbati and that she almost lost her daughter. She lashes out at Rishi for still supporting Jhanak. Rishi repeats that an unbiased investigation will take place and promises to cut all ties with Jhanak if she is found guilty.
Aditi firmly states that only Jhanak benefits from her death and that the police should do their job. Rishi clarifies that Aditi is not his enemy. Arshi orders him to leave, saying she does not want him near Aditi. When Rishi asks if she suspects him, Arshi replies that he can do anything to save Jhanak. Rishi pleads for a chance to know the truth and promises never to see Jhanak again if she is proven guilty. Aniruddh, watching quietly, thinks Jhanak must be found guilty no matter what.
