Raju Lodhia plays Vishwanath Trivedi in Prateek Sharma’s Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan: It’s a good character and I’ve a huge scope to perform

Raju Lodhia is seen as Vishwanath Trivedi in Prateek Sharma’s Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan (PKPNRM). The actor sounds happy to be a part of the show.

“Radha- Krishna is always an icon of love. So the first thought that came to my mind when I heard the title is that this is a love story. And, Radha didn’t get Krishna in his life, but her love for Mohan is immortal. I thought that would be the crux of the story,” he says.

Raju shares how PKPNRM is different from the rest. “The shows on air right now are somehow similar to each other, except for a few. In fact, PKPNRM has a different colour and flavour to it. In the promo, we clearly show that Mohan (Shabir Ahluwalia) has his past and is unable to come out of it. He is disturbed and Radha (Neeharika Roy) will come into his life and make him live his life all over again,” he shares.

Talking about his character, the actor adds, “Vishwanath Trivedi is a happy-go-lucky sort of a person. He has his own world. He loves his children but he can’t express his feelings. He always has his pain about Mohan not calling him Pitaji instead he calls him Trivediji. His wife ( Swati Shah) is an overpowering woman. She handles business and entire family affairs. He thinks himself good for nothing in the house. Later on we will see why he is like this and what happened in the past. It’s a good character and I have huge scope and opportunities to perform,” he adds.

The backdrop of the show is Vrindavan. It is even shot there. “When the name Krishna, Mohan, Kanha, Madhav etc comes there are certain places that are connected with it and they are Vrindavan, Gokul, Mathura, Vraj. These places have a rich history. So, it feels wonderful shooting here,” adds the actor. PKPNRM is his first show this year. He was on a break from TV before this show as he felt he had got overexposed. The actor also wanted to explore other platforms in between.

These days, be it the storyline or characters, most of it is very relatable. “Shabir Ahluwalia as Mohan is apt casting and all other characters are doing their job very nicely. The storyline is very connected to the audience,” he continues, “As an actor, for me every new show is a new challenge when it comes to performance, making that connection with the audience, to stand out in the crowd etc. I enjoy that thrill.”
