Aajay Mehra is Team Delhi Titans in Actors Cricket Bash: Cricket is closest to my heart… it has taught me many life lessons

In the third season of Actors Cricket Bash (ACB) that starts on March 19, Aajay Mehra will play for Team Delhi Titans. Founded by Dillip Agrawal, this T10 format tournament will be held at the Air India Ground, Mumbai. The actor, who feels everyone should play some kind of sport, is looking forward to being a part of this four-day-long tournament.

“Whether one is a doctor, engineer, or a part of any profession, one must be associated with some kind of sport. So I feel fortunate to have been playing cricket since my childhood. I played cricket for Haryana under 16 as well. Since my stay in Mumbai, I’ve been associated with 2-3 clubs here. Cricket is closest to my heart. It makes me happy, teaches me about life, how to deal with all kinds of problems and obstacles before finally finding happiness. It also taught me to live life on my own terms and do what is right. I feel lucky to be a part of ACB and would love to continue this association with Dilip,” he says.

Calling ACB a family, the actor hopes that the audience will also enjoy watching the competition and fun on the field. “Cricket is not just a religion in India, it’s more like god to many. We Indians are passionate about this sport that binds the nation together. I’m just looking at the calendars every day and waiting for March 19 when the tournament starts. I will go with the flow. Not taking any extra preparation or pressure for ACB but yes there’s excitement and eagerness to see all co-stars, friends and colleagues on the field,” he adds.

Aajay’s favourite cricketer is Brian Lara. “I have always been a fan of this left-handed batsman from the West Indies. He was the one of the handsome cricketers not just by looks but the way he used to play,” he says.

Praising and congratulating Dilip for organising such an event, the actor adds, “Dilip is one of the people who don’t live for himself but for others. He is kind hearted, nice to people and very passionate about cricket. He is like that banyan that provides shadow, cool breeze and calmness to everyone. He is very humble and helpful. He just made ACB out of all the actors in Mumbai and got them together on the platform. He is a fantastic human being, who understands cricket well and therefore could organise such a fair game. He is a gem.”
