Aishwarya Rai Bachchan graces the All India Ophthalmological Conference

Dr. Himanshu Mehta, a renowned Ophthalmologist in Mumbai, is a member of the All-India ophthalmic society that recently organised the All India Ophthalmological Conference. Himanshu, who currently practices at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, says that the press conference saw a large collaboration between specialists.

“This was an All-India ophthalmic society meeting where 8500 eye surgeons from across the country came to Mumbai to share knowledge, have conference and live demonstration of surgery,” says Dr Himanshu, who has worked as an eye doctor for the last 31 years and gained proficient skills and knowledge in the segments. He is a well-known member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Vitreo Retinal Society and Indian Ophthalmologist Association.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the conference in Mumbai as the chief guest. “Aishwarya Ji was extremely cordial and very warm with the crowd. She came on time, greeted the press, gave enough photo opportunities to everyone. She was present for the full conference, on the stage, for almost one and half hours. She greeted almost every doctor, gave away all the prices and was present spontaneously throughout the meeting. All the ophthalmologists present took a pledge of donating their eyes to reduce blindness in this country by 2027. Aishwarya was very sporting. She was courteous and very respectful towards all the senior doctors. She wholeheartedly participated in the proceedings of the meeting,” he says.
