At the beginning of the episode, Ninad asks them not to celebrate their anniversary as he never felt anything for Ashwini and regrets his marriage. Omkar says it doesn’t matter what he likes, Sai will do what she wants. Ninad forbids them to celebrate and says he will not be a part of it.
Ashwini says there is no need to celebrate a relationship, which has nothing left. Virat says he is left from their marriage and if they regret his birth too. Ashwini says his birth is they only thing that she is proud of. Mansi asks Ninad to answer Virat’s question. Ninad says he is proud of Virat not just as a son but as a soldier. He says how could he ask such a question. Virat says the best thing a father can do for a child, is to give love and respect to his mother.
Samrat tells Ninad that Virat never asked them any question since childhood, but he questioned his own existence today, so he must have so much pain inside his heart. Bhawani says how can they regret a marriage which gave this house a son like Virat. Bhawani says she has considered Virat and Samrat as her own sons. She says she can assure Virat that Ninad loves him dearly even if he may not love his mother.
Ninad says he is ready to do anything to prove this. Virat asks Ninad to let them celebrate their anniversary. Sonali says Sai has trained Virat too to emotionally blackmail. Omkar says there is no need to say yes. Mansi tells them not to instigate. Pakhi says they cannot force Ninad. Ninad says Virat has never asked him for anything. He says if Virat wants to celebrate their anniversary, then he will not stop them. Virat thanks Ninad.
Omkar taunts Ninad. Ninad says his heart is bigger than his pride. He tells him to appreciate Mohit’s talent too. Omkar says he also used to ridicule Mohit just like him. Sonali says he has changed under some people’s influence. Mohit thanks Ninad. Sai thanks Ninad and tells Ashwini that they will always remember the anniversary celebration. Ninad tells Virat not to expect things to change between him and Ashwini.
Virat thinks about all that. Sai brings food for him. She asks him to share what is going on in his heart. Sai feeds him food and wipes his tears. Virat says he is angry that he never raised his voice when he saw his father misbehaving with his mother. Sai says he took a stand for Ashwini. Virat says he should have done this long back and he is not a good son. Sai says he should not blame himself for what has happened.
Virat says his silence was his mistake. Sai says she wants to tell him a story. She says they teach them psychology in college too. She tells that an elephant baby tries to free itself from chains when it is small, but grows up thinking it cannot break the shackles and does not even try to break the rope even when it grows up.
Sai tells that this is called conditioning and he grew up thinking he cannot speak against his father. She says sometimes one needs a jolt to wake up from a deep sleep. Virat says she has woken him up. Sai says Ashwini is her mother too and she must be happy to see Virat take a stand for her.
Virat says he knows Ninad has a lot of love in him, but he could not convince him to love his mother. Virat cries on Sai’s shoulder.
