Navin Prabhakar: I still watch two movies everyday; learning process is never ending

No matter how busy he is, actor-comedian Navin Prabhakar makes sure to catch up on two films every day, so that he can learn the nuances about acting. The actor has been doing films and TV shows since his college days, and loves acting.

He says, “I believe in learning new things in acting. Cinema is living life for me, it’s my lifeline now. I got the first call after The Laughter Challenge happened and I did the film. On the set of that shoot, I experienced a new atmosphere, a new style of working, and everyone working to create something new and original. I loved the process. Jab ek baar chehre par makeup lag gaya .. toh woh creativity ka nasha aapko chain se sone nahi deta . I still watch two films every day and without that I don’t go to sleep.. the learning is never ending here.”

Ask him what was the toughest period of his struggle as an actor, he says, “My journey as an actor started when I was in my 2nd year. Mr. Sachin Pilgaonkar called me for his TV serial. It was on Star One. Then I continued doing some TV shows and then there was a very big gap of 15 years. After Pechankaun, I had so many opportunities in Marathi films as the lead actor. I completed eight films as a lead actor. In Hindi, I have done 22 films as a supporting cast. It all started accidentally from being a comedian/mimicry artist to an actor. First, I started learning from Bollywood actors like Amitabh sir, Govinda and then directors like Satyajit Ray, Mr. Manmohan Desai, Prakash Mehra.”
