Actress Neelu Kohli, who essays the role of Saroj’s Chachi in the film Saroj Ka Rishta, starring Sanah Kapur and Gaurav Pandey. Talking about her brief but integral role in the film, Neetu says, “My role is a little more than a cameo and a little less than a full-fledged role. It’s a very sweet film, in today’s time especially when body shaming is a big thing. Here there’s a plus-size girl who is so confident and I think she is the cutest heroine I know and she’s so cute in the film,” she says.
She adds, “I played a bad Chachi but it was a powerful role. It’s a slice-of-life kind of film.”
The film addresses body shaming and Neelu says that more such films must be made. “She’s been shown as a very confident girl throughout the film which is so relevant nowadays. The way she looked was more of an advantage to her and I think such films should be made. I would choose to say the film was different, and it was surprisingly and beautifully different,” she says.
