Actor Raghav Dhir, who is playing the role of Keshav in Nilanjana Purkayasstha and Herumb Khot’s Chikoo- Yeh Ishq Nachaye, says that he doesn’t let the pressure of a leap get to him in any way. The actor adds that it’s natural to feel anxious when a successful show takes a time leap, and you join the cast. But he believes in taking it in his stride.
“The show already has a huge fan base and the team has very supportive people, which is why I love to be part of it. As any story goes, there comes a time when things change…and leaps often make you question your ability and you feel unsure of whether you can pull off the character well or not. But that’s very natural and I don’t think about it too much. I continue to work as hard as I can, hard work is always rewarded,” he says.
The actor adds that he really relates to Keshav. “Keshav is that type of guy who just wants to grab any opportunity that comes his way and make the most of it. His relationship with Dhanush is great and they can rely on each other. This is the type of bond that I share with my brother and this is why I could really relate to it,” he says.
Talking about working with Nilanjana and Herumb, he adds, “It’s always great working with them. This is my second show with them after Dhadkan. They are very supportive when it comes to an actor’s needs and they make sure that the entire team is extremely comfortable.”
The show is based on body shaming and Raghav says that relatable topics such as this one always works well with the audience. “Picking up topics which people go through in their daily life is something the audience connects with every time. In fact, some people even relate to the story and this try understanding it better,” he says, adding, “However, body-shaming needs to stop. If you truly think good for someone, you wouldn’t motivate them by throwing insults at them. You would try to understand their side.”
