Sandhya Shungloo feels attached to Badki Amma’s role in Aggar Tum Na Hote: I see my mother in this character

Sandhya Shungloo aka Badki Amma of Jatin Sethi, Mahesh Pandey and Piyush Gupta’s Aggar Tum Na Hote feels the show is unique and the concept is such that it relates with the audience well. The actor justifies her point.

“We have seen in other shows where the heroine is not fighting back, but not here. In our show, the heroine is dealing with the situations, never losing hope. Abhimanyu (Himanshu Soni) loves his family and his bonding with his mom is very different, but Niyati (Simaran Kaur) handles everything perfectly. The bond that is shown between a step-son and step-mother is going to be more beautiful as the story moves forward. Here there is no negative character. If someone is doing something wrong then they have a reason. I am playing the role of Abhimanyu’s grandmother,” she says.

This show marks Sandhya’s hattrick in the role of a grandmother. She played the matriarch in Patiala Babes and KumKum Bhagya too.

“Whatever work I receive, I give my 100 percent. I am thankful for the opportunity that I got. Working with three brilliant producers( Jatin Sethi, Mahesh Pandey, and Piyush Gupta) who are so much experienced has been wonderful. It’s like a 3-in-1 package. I feel grateful,” she continues, “Till now I have played different characters. In this, I am playing a north Indian. I am emotionally connected to this role as I see my mother in this character. I was attached to her. She is a sorted mom, who handles her family and her decision is what led to the start of the story.”
Happy with how her fans have been showering her with praises, Sandhya shares that the viewers have been very kind and nice to her. She feels happy to be able to entertain so many people. The actor also praises her co-stars.

“On the sets we have a really positive era. We work and spend time together talking and eating. We also celebrate everything and like each other. I am teased all the time (laughs). Whenever I scold someone they don’t take it seriously and we all just laugh at the end of it. From production to co-actors, we all do enjoy each other’s company. I love all my co-artists. The AD, the director, the makeup team, the creatives, spot dada, I bond with everyone. There is no groupism here and all of us really gel well. We play antakshari, make plans and reels as well. Everyone pampers me by saying dadi because I am the eldest in the team,” she adds.

If not an artist, Sandhya would have probably done something else. In fact, she was a managing director and proprietor in an advertising agency for around 22 years. I am good at business and I am managing my own apart from acting. Both these professions are closest to my heart. I don’t think I could have done anything better than this,” she ends.
