Saurabbh Roy to play for Team Mumbai Aces in Actors Cricket Bash: Happy to spend quality time with my first love, cricket

Saurabbh Roy is all set to play real cricket with his co-stars as a part of Team Mumbai Aces. This is the first time the actor is taking part in Dilip Agrawal’s Actors Cricket Bash. In its third edition the event, that goes by the tagline #ReelActorsRealCricket, is going to get more exciting.  This will be held between March 19 and March 22, in Air India Ground, Mumbai.

“It’s always good to spend time with your first love and cricket is my first love. And, ACB is giving me a chance to play the game and make memorable moments on the ground. So definitely it’s a very good feeling. The spirit gives you that competitive feeling right from the start. Even during our net practice sessions we go for kills. Don’t think that we are actors and might go light on the game. Rather, we have too much fire in each of us,” he says.

Saurabbh believes that cricket is a religion in India. “We have produced few of the finest cricketers in the world. We have won the world championship twice and it’s been played in every gully and nukkad of our country,” he adds.

The actor has started practicing and is working on his weaknesses. He wants to give his “1000 percent on ground”.

“I like Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his calmness, Virat kohli for his fire and Jasprit Bumrah for his speed. I can’t choose one as every individual teaches you something that is special. My expectation from Actors Cricket Bash is simple. I want my team to win the title by defeating all the other teams fair and square,” he says.

Praising Dilip Agarwal, he adds, “He is like a mentor who gave us a chance to live our dream once again as he put all his efforts into this fun, entertaining fair game for the audience. He is a true cricketer from all aspects.”

Saurabhh is also looking forward to the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. “I have always supported Chennai and this time too my loyalties won’t change. So I’m excited about them at the same time two new teams have been introduced this season so I am looking forward to their performances. And, I am sure Chennai is going to rock this season,” he adds.
