Savant Premi: I hope there are more seasons of ACB

Actor Savant Premi, who is playing for the Team Delhi Titans in the ongoing Actors Cricket Bash (ACB), says that he is loving being part of the third season. He adds that he is so grateful to the founder Dilip Agrawal for coming up with the tournament.

“I have always been very excited to play cricket. And I’m glad that because of Dilip, actors can play cricket in Mumbai. And when we actors play cricket, who were cricketers before, it feels amazing,” he says, adding, “If it was not Dilip Sir, ACB wouldn’t have been happening. We are very grateful and thankful to Dilip. It means a lot to all of us. Cricket has always been very important to us. Kudos to Dilip and I hope there are more seasons!”

Talking about the competition on the field, Savant says, “Be it men or women, ACB cricket is always competitive like any other sport and the best part is that here participants are the ones who are actors and who have been cricketers. So, it’s competitive and when we are on the field, we are cricketers, not actors. So, it’s fun.”

He adds that cricket has always been important to him. “Cricket has always been my first love. I was a cricketer before I became an actor. Cricket is close to my heart. And I’m glad that we all have become actors in our lives, we all are working. When it comes to cricket, the excitement level is different and we got this opportunity.  So, yes, cricket means a lot to me and to India. It’s like a religion and love for me,” he says.

Ask him who is his favourite cricketer, and he says, “Virat Kohli is my favourite cricketer because I have played with him when I used to play in my school. I have seen him grow. I have seen his life transform from what he was and what he is now and what all he has achieved. He is a very disciplined and hardworking guy, very aggressive in the field.  But he is equally sweet in real life.”

The actor is very excited about the upcoming season of IPL. “It’s like a festival like ACB is for us. It’s a festival in India. I don’t miss any of the matches, if I’m shooting, I still watch it. IPL is very exciting and I’m excited for the same,” he says.
