Yamini Malhotra ‘Completely Shaken, Traumatized’ After Car Caught Fire

“Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin” actress Yamini Malhotra was left shaken and traumatized after her car went up in flames.

Recalling the incident that happened on Aug. 10 after midnight, she said, “When I saw fire coming out of the bonnet of the car, I immediately rushed out. The fire soon started spreading. Passersby gathered for help and called the fire brigade and police. The police came within a few minutes. But the fire brigade came 40 minutes late. By that time, the entire car got burnt. I was completely shaken and traumatized.”
She said that she kept crying and watching helplessly as she couldn’t do anything to save her car.  Disappointed about the late arrival of the fire brigade, she said, “At night there is hardly any traffic, it should have reached in a few minutes, but it took 40 minutes. What if I was locked inside the car? I would have died by the time they would have come. I am deeply disappointed with the system of our country. Why are our lives not considered important? Why do such delays happen?”
Mumbai police, on the other hand, was kind to her. “They were standing beside me and trying to console me. But they were also helplessly watching my car burn and waiting for the fire brigade.”
Later, she went to the police station regarding the incident.   “After that we again went for the survey of the car. By then the fire had stopped. And I could see the ruins of my car, ashes and black burnt metals. It was very painful to watch my car go away like this right in front of me. I am only thankful to God that he saved me from burning inside.  “I clicked one final photo with the ruins of my car. A happy pose turned into a sad one. That proves the uncertainty of life. I realised that bad times would never ask you or inform you before coming. It will suddenly come and change our lives within seconds.” Before the sad incident, she was driving towards Juhu then Lokhandwala all by herself. “I had even posted my happy pictures on Instagram. My last Insta Story showed me sitting on the boot of the car and posing,” said Yamini.
According to her, the next few days will be tough to travel to her set.  “I’ll have to buy a new car on an urgent basis. It’s neither convenient nor safe to travel in public transport considering the COVID situation,” she said.
