That Sharad Malhotra is loved by his fans and co-stars is known. It seems that love is only increasing every day. Sharad’s co-stars from his latest show Vidrohi, Hemal Dev, and Sulagna Panigrahi have nice things to say about him.
Calling his bond with Sharad “tremendously special”, Hemal never thought she would find a friend in him. “It was extremely nerve-wracking to meet him for the first time as he is such a huge star and I honestly did not think he would be as friendly as he has been. He is one of the sweetest people I have met and I mean that with all my heart. He genuinely tries to make sure that everyone around him is comfortable by not letting the barrier between a star and a newbie be an issue and that helps us perform better. I would like to give him all the credit for making me feel so comfortable on the sets so I could efficiently perform, leaving aside my nervousness. So kudos to him for that,” she adds. Echoing Hemal’s sentiments, Sulagna also talks about what it is that separates Sharad from the rest. She reveals meeting him for the first time on the set of Vidrohi.
“I was highly impressed by his professionalism, dedication, and how good he is at being a warrior. If you see him on the screen you will only see Baxi Jagbandhu and not a glimpse of Sharad. The kind of effort he has put into this character is commendable. Even when he rides a horse, it feels as if he has been doing that all his life. He looks like somebody from the 18th century itself. For me, honesty is the most important thing when it comes to performance and Sharad is so honest in his performance that when you are performing alongside him even you are at your hundred percent because he is at his best,” she says.
Sulagna adds that it is great to work with professional actors like Sharad, who believes in team effort. “Life becomes easy with a co-actor like him. He only wants to better the scene each time and that immensely motivates all of us. I really hope the audience likes our chemistry because a huge point of the show is to showcase the bond between Radhamani (Sulagna) and Jagbandhu (Sharad), so I hope that comes amid the ups and downs their marriage goes through and how they handle those issues beautifully. They have been through a lot as characters and it is a very mature relationship. So, having Sharad as a co-star who understands the nuances well is a bonus,” she ends.
