Vaishnavi Ganatra on World Environment Day: It is our collective responsibility to preserve and tend to the world in which we live in

To make our present as well as the future healthy we need to take care of our environment. On this note, Vaishnavi Ganatra talks about keeping the environment clean and pollution free on World Environment Day, June 5. The actor highlights a few essential points along with sharing what she does on a regular basis to take care of our surroundings.
“It is our collective and individual responsibility, to preserve and tend to the world in which we live. The natural world is changing and we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it. Keeping it clean and pollution-free ensures we have a steady supply of fresh air,” she says.
The actor adds that water contamination, climate change, and pollution are degrading the environment at an alarming rate. “We must act with speed to reverse the destructive processes like combustion of fossil fuels, destruction of water catchment areas and oil spillages. No one should think their individual efforts are too small to make a huge difference. When each of us makes an effort to keep our environment clean and green, our efforts will collectively make a huge difference. Some small steps that we can take are minimizing wastage of natural resources, avoiding littering roads and saving water,” she shares. In the end, according to Vaishnavi, it is we who are going to get the advantages of having a cleaner and greener environment. “Our efforts to save the planet are proportional to what we will receive. If we do good, we get better is something all of us are familiar with. Keeping the environment clean will help in increasing our lifespan, we will create a healthy lifestyle for ourselves. We need to take a few measures like recycling plastic products as opposed to throwing them away, adopting eco-friendly measures and planting trees, using water economically and avoiding wasting this crucial resource at all costs. This way, we will collectively reduce pollution and enjoy living in a peaceful, fresh air-laden environment. We belong to the Earth, the Earth does not belong to us. It is very important to take care of the natural resources, we owe it to Mother Earth,” she adds.
