At the beginning of the episode, Purab goes to Thapki’s house and tells her mamaji that the vocal cords of Thapki’s mother are not good and the doctor told him that it is important for her to get the surgery done. Thapki’s mamaji says but how it will get done. He asks him to don’t worry about the expenses. He tells Purab to meet Thapki’s mother before going home. When he goes to meet her. She tells him that she is happy that he is keeping his promise. She tells him that she used to stitch clothes for Thapki every Diwali and this time she also stitched clothes for him.
She asks him to wear those clothes during the pooja and also sends her a picture of both of them together. He says okay. On the other hand, Thapki is making laddoos for everyone. Meanwhile, Veena comes and tells that today it’s going to be a new beginning, things will change and they will do the Laxmi Pooja with great celebrations. Then she says that Thapki should not be there. She asks her to stay in her room. Amma says to Veena that she can’t do this. She says that she is doing wrong with Thapki and tells her that it’s her right to be present in pooja as she is daughter in law of this house.
Thapki tells Amma it’s okay. She says that she will stay in the room because she doesn’t want anyone to get upset. Amma tells Veena to not consider her love as her weakness. Purab comes home and gives the bag of clothes to Thapki. Thapki sees that her mother has also stitched clothes for Purab. She gets ready.
She ask Purab to also get ready and attend the Diwali Pooja this time. Thapki is wearing her gajra Purab helps her in that. Suddenly lights get off. Purab goes downstairs to see what happened. Their Amma is saying that this should have happened as they have locked their daughter-in-law to a room during Laxmi Pooja. Purab listens to this and goes away. Thapki gives him the idea to make diyas from flour and light them. They both lights so many diyas and put them in the house. Amma says that this time Thapki and Purab will do the pooja because they both have removed the darkness from the house. Veena gets upset.on this.
